These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CozyCasting Discord bot (the "Bot"), the CozyCasting website at cozycasting.app (the "Website"), and this documentation site (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Cozy Casting ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Bot or the Website, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility#
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Bot, as required by Discord's Terms of Service. By using the Bot, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
You must also comply with Discord's Terms of Service at all times.
2. Description of the Service#
CozyCasting is a Discord bot that provides a virtual fishing game experience, including fishing, progression, trading, guilds, and related features. The Service is provided for entertainment purposes only.
The Website presents information from the same game: a public feed of the rarest catches, public leaderboards, the Hall of Champions, the Contest Pier, a page for every species, and a page for each catch you share. It is a companion to the Bot, not a separate product, and everything it shows is drawn from your existing game data. There is no separate registration.
Some parts of the Website require an active Supporter subscription (Section 6): your personal Dashboard and the species Journal. The equivalent information remains available for free in the Bot through /profile (including its Achievements tab), /collection and /gear.
3. The Website and Signing In#
There is no CozyCasting account. Signing in to the Website uses Discord's OAuth2 flow: you authorise with Discord, and we identify you by your Discord user ID. You are responsible for the security of your Discord account, and anyone who can access it can access your data on the Website.
Signing in is optional. The public parts of the Website work without it.
Public content. Four parts of the Website can show your display name without a sign-in: the feed of the rarest catches, the leaderboard, the Hall of Champions, and the shared page for an individual catch. Rare catches from every server appear on the feed, but they name nobody unless both a server administrator has turned on angler names for that server and you have not opted out; shared catch pages take the same two permissions. The leaderboard and the Hall of Champions rank every player globally, so no server can allow or withhold your name — only your own opt-out applies. /globalfeed removes your name from all four, at once, including from catches already on the feed; on the leaderboard your rank and score remain under "Anonymous Angler". Full detail is in our Privacy Policy, Section 5.
By playing the Bot without opting out, you grant us permission to display your progress on those surfaces — including your display name — publicly on the Website.
Names are your responsibility. Your Discord display name and any fish nicknames you set may appear publicly. Do not use names that are unlawful, hateful, harassing, or that impersonate someone else. We may remove content and revoke Website access for names that break these Terms.
Availability. The Website is provided as-is and may be taken down, changed, or made unavailable at any time. Statistics shown on it are approximate and cached, and may lag behind the Bot.
Automated access. Do not scrape the Website, circumvent its rate limits, or use its endpoints for bulk collection. The data is there to be read by people.
4. User Conduct#
You agree not to:
- Use the Bot in a way that violates Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
- Exploit bugs, glitches, or unintended behavior to gain an unfair advantage
- Use automation, scripts, macros, or any tool to interact with the Bot on your behalf
- Attempt to sign in to the Website as another person, forge or tamper with session cookies, or access data that is not yours
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Bot or its infrastructure
- Harass other users through Bot features such as trading or guild systems
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent bans, restrictions, or game limits
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any user who violates these rules, with or without prior notice.
5. Virtual Currency and Items#
In-Game Currency#
CozyCasting uses two types of in-game currency:
- Coins — earned through gameplay only; cannot be purchased
- Pearls — earned through gameplay only; cannot be purchased
Neither currency is sold for money. Nothing described in Section 6 grants coins or pearls.
All in-game currency and items (rods, bait, fish, titles, etc.) are virtual goods with no real-world monetary value. They are licensed to you, not sold. You do not own any in-game assets.
No Real-World Value#
In-game currency and items:
- Cannot be transferred outside the Bot
- Cannot be exchanged for real money or goods
- Have no guaranteed monetary value of any kind
- May be modified, rebalanced, or removed at any time as part of game updates
6. Purchases#
What Can Be Purchased#
Two things, both sold by Discord:
- Supporter — a recurring monthly subscription. It grants access to the Supporter-only parts of the Website (your Dashboard and the species Journal) and to Bot extras, all claimed on
/subscription: one claimable item per week, two selectable perks per calendar month, and a monthly profile-card background. Supporter is offered at two levels; the higher level additionally grants one 14-day Server Boost Pass per billing month, which activates one server-wide buff of your choice in a Discord server. That pass arrives once per renewal rather than once per calendar month. Passes do not expire. Once a pass has been granted to you it is yours to activate whenever you choose — an unused one survives cancellation, and keeps working after your subscription has ended. The only thing that removes a pass is Discord reversing the purchase behind it through a refund or chargeback. - Server Pass — a one-time, consumable purchase. Activating it turns on every purchasable server-wide buff for 30 days in one Discord server of your choosing. It is not a subscription, it does not renew, and it does not grant Website access.

What Purchases Do Not Buy#
No purchase increases your chance of catching rare fish, and no purchase is randomized — there are no loot boxes, no paid chests, and no surprise rewards. Everything sold is described in full, with its exact effect and duration, before you buy or activate it. No purchase grants coins or pearls. Every command the Bot offers remains free; the Supporter-only parts of the Website are a deeper view of information the Bot already gives you for nothing.
How Purchases Work#
All purchases are processed through Discord's built-in monetization system. Cozy Casting does not directly handle or store payment information. All purchases are subject to Discord's Terms of Service and payment policies.
Renewal and Cancellation#
A Supporter subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from CozyCasting's profile in Discord; access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and is not extended beyond it. Profile-card backgrounds already granted to you are kept permanently, including after you cancel.
No Refunds#
All purchases are final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law. A Server Pass is consumed the moment you activate it and cannot be recovered, moved to another server, or refunded afterwards. An unactivated pass is a different matter: it does not expire, so there is no deadline by which you must spend one. If you believe you were charged in error, contact Discord support directly.
Where Discord does reverse a purchase — a refund or a chargeback — any pass granted by that purchase and not yet activated is removed with it.
Service Changes#
We reserve the right to change the price, availability, or content of purchasable items and subscription benefits at any time. We are not obligated to offer any particular item, tier, or benefit indefinitely.
7. Account Suspension and Termination#
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Bot at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination:
- Your in-game progress, currency, and items may be forfeited
- No refunds will be issued for any subscription or pass you have purchased

8. Intellectual Property#
The Bot, its code, game mechanics, artwork, names, and documentation are the intellectual property of Cozy Casting. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
User-generated content (e.g., guild names you create) remains yours, but you grant us a non-exclusive license to display and store it as part of operating the Service.
9. Disclaimers#
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- The Bot will be available at all times or free from errors
- Your game data will never be lost due to technical failures
- Any particular feature will remain available indefinitely
CozyCasting is a hobby project and may experience downtime, data loss, or feature changes at any time.
10. Limitation of Liability#
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, COZY CASTING SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING LOSS OF IN-GAME CURRENCY OR ITEMS.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 30 DAYS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
11. Governing Law#
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction in the United States.
12. Changes to These Terms#
We may update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Bot after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
